Premiering at South by Southwest in 2023, “Late Night with the Devil” starring David Dastmalchian garnered significant buzz within the horror community. Its theatrical run and subsequent premiere on Shudder made it a massive success. Shudder reported that “Late Night with the Devil” set viewership and subscriber acquisition records for the streamer.

AMC Networks EVP of Streaming Courtney Thomasma announced Shudder’s acquisition of “Late Night” for streaming. “Bringing this film to a wider audience reinforces the synergy between AMC Networks and IFC Films, showcasing the enduring appeal of horror.”

Shudder’s Vice President of Programming, Sam Zimmerman, expressed elation at the reception of “Late Night with the Devil”: “We recognized its bold, unsettling, and crowd-captivating qualities, and we’re thrilled to see them resonate with both current and new members.” The film’s success across streaming and theatrical platforms underscores the value of innovative and original genre offerings pursued by Shudder and IFC Films. Congratulations to the Cairnes brothers and the talented filmmaking team behind this exceptional work.

IFC Films’ *Late Night with the Devil* shattered records on its April 19th Shudder debut, marking the streamer’s most successful opening weekend ever. Directed by Colin and Cameron Cairnes and featuring David Dastmalchian, the supernatural thriller eclipsed previous record-holders *V/H/S/99* and *When Evil Lurks* within its first full week, becoming the most watched and highest acquisition-driving film on both Shudder and AMC+. *V/H/S/99* saw an 85% increase in viewership, while *When Evil Lurks* experienced a threefold increase in acquisitions.

“Late Night with the Devil” follows Jack Delroy, host of the syndicated late-night talk show “Night Owls.” Jack’s show has been a go-to for insomniacs, but after the tragic death of his wife a year prior, ratings have drastically declined. Desperate to revive his show, Jack plans a Halloween special unlike any other. Little does he know, he is about to unleash something sinister upon America’s living rooms.

Following its record-breaking theatrical debut on March 22, 2024, “Late Night with the Devil” continued its success on streaming service Shudder over the weekend.

The film garnered rave reviews for David Dastmalchian’s powerful performance and holds a Certified Fresh rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, where it currently reigns as the #1 Best Horror Film of 2024.

Now streaming: “Late Night with the Devil” on Shudder.
