**Blu-ray/Home Media Release Unboxing**

“Godzilla Minus One” has launched its home media release in Japan. Fans have been given a special unboxing video to showcase the release.

**Significance**

“Godzilla Minus One” marks the first new title in the franchise for the Reiwa era and the beginning of Toho’s 70th anniversary celebration for “Godzilla.” It has become one of the most successful “Godzilla” films, breaking records and winning awards unprecedented for the franchise.

Despite a successful theatrical release, many fans eagerly anticipate the home media debut of “Godzilla Minus One.” To satisfy this demand, the film will soon be available on 4K Blu-ray and DVD in Japan.

Overseas fans can prepare for the imminent release by exploring the contents of the four-disc box set through an unboxing video, showcasing the exclusive features and high-quality visuals available upon its release.

Godzilla Minus One Blu-ray U.S. Release Date

Unfortunately, fans outside Japan await a North American release date for “Godzilla Minus One” home media. Its official streaming debut on Amazon Prime Japan is May 3rd, but international availability remains unconfirmed. Fans may consider importing the film or monitoring international release announcements.

When “Godzilla Minus One” won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, marking Toho’s first Oscars win in the franchise’s 70-year history, director Takashi Yamazaki remarked:

40 years ago, I was inspired by “Star Wars” and “Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind” to embark on my career. As a non-Hollywood resident, the prospect of standing here seemed far-fetched. When we received the nomination, it felt like being in Rocky Balboa’s ring, welcomed as equals by our rivals—an incredible experience. We stand here today as a testament to the fact that Hollywood listened. This award shows that anything is possible, even for VFX artists outside the Hollywood bubble. On behalf of the cast and crew of “Godzilla Minus One,” I’d like to express our gratitude to our late producer, Shuji Abe. We did it! Thank you.
