After the 2023 horror hit “The Pope’s Exorcist” gained a devoted following, a sequel was in production. However, studio changes stalled its progress. Now, a new “Pope’s Exorcist” is officially in development.

Katz hopes to continue the franchise’s naming system, akin to the Planet of the Apes films, in response to a fan’s query about the upcoming sequel’s title.
Personally, I favor a “Planet of the Apes” approach, producing films like “Pray for the Pope’s Exorcist” or “Heaven Help the Pope’s Exorcist.” However, that’s just my opinion.
I personally want to go PLANET OF THE APES with it so you would get stuff like PRAY FOR THE POPE’S EXORCIST or HEAVEN HELP THE POPE’S EXORCIST and the like. But that’s just me.

Earlier this year, Crowe himself discussed potential sequels to “Pope’s Exorcist,” indicating plans for a trilogy contingent on the franchise’s continued success.
Crowe confirmed discussions are ongoing for two sequels, as initially planned by the studio. However, recent changes in studio leadership have delayed the project.
Crowe emphasized the character’s potential for diverse storylines, referencing the 12 books written by the real-life priest, Gabriele Amorth.
He anticipates filming for additional films could commence next year, provided that the studio situation is resolved.
