What Is The Garfield Movie About?
Monotony-despising, lasagna-addicted feline Garfield (Chris Pratt) embarks on an unexpected journey with his estranged father, Vic (Samuel L. Jackson). Forced out of his pampered existence, Garfield and his loyal canine companion, Odie, join Vic in a thrilling heist filled with laughter and high stakes.
Joining Pratt in the voice cast of “The Garfield Movie” are acclaimed actors Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang.
Directed by Mark Dindal (“The Emperor’s New Groove”), “The Garfield Movie” features a screenplay by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove (“Raising Hope”), and David Reynolds (“Finding Nemo”). Producers include John Cohen, Broderick Johnson, Andrew A. Kosove, Steven P. Wegner, Craig Sost, Namit Malhotra, and Crosby Clyse.
Harvey Guillén Talks Playing Odie:
Earlier this year, ComicBook asked Guillén about Odie’s silence in the upcoming movie.
“My initial reaction was shock and disbelief,” Guillén explained. “When they approached me for the Odie role, I was told they admired my performance as Perrito in ‘Puss in Boots’ for his sweetness and kindness. However, they revealed that Odie would be a non-verbal character. I was surprised and asked, ‘Doesn’t Odie talk?’ They responded affirmatively and requested that I convey all of the character’s emotions through non-verbal means.”
“It’s a challenge to do it without words, but I loved it because it’s so different. It stands out from Perrito, Gabo, Nightwing, and my other voice characters. I like to avoid playing the same note repeatedly. People will really enjoy it.”
Mark your calendars for May 24th, as the iconic lasagna-loving feline, Garfield, makes his grand entrance on the big screen in _The Garfield Movie_.
